Richard Amos Ltd is an Architectural and Surveying practice covering the Scottish Borders, East Lothian, and Northumberland from our offices in Duns and Eyemouth. The Company is a well-established local firm that is in its second term of management since its formation in 1988. We offer a varied and flexible approach to meet our client's requirements, offering a full service from inception through to completion.

Our professional and experienced staff work collaboratively with our clients to help them reach their end project goal. Covering a wide range of construction sectors, we can provide a flexible Architectural service to suit project requirements. We have an established client base including Farm and Estate owners, Housing Associations, local and nationwide businesses, and private clients. The majority of our work comes from repeat business and referrals from our existing client base.

Meet Our Team

David Burgon, Director, started with Richard Amos Ltd in February 2005. He became a Chartered Member of CIAT, an Associate Member of the RICS, and an Associate member of APS before taking over Richard Amos Ltd in September 2020. David undertakes a full and broad role within the company, leading architectural projects, carrying out building inspections, and providing overarching advice to clients on their projects.

David McKnight, Senior Architectural, is a key member of our team. His extensive experience and knowledge in architectural services are invaluable to our clients. He works closely with our clients to ensure their project goals are met.

Architectural Services

We provide a full Architectural service from project inception through to completion and across a range of domestic, commercial, and agricultural sectors. Whether working on historic buildings or designing contemporary new buildings, we work collaboratively to achieve the goal of the client brief.

Building Surveying Services

We offer a range of building surveys, defect inspection, and analysis as well as measured surveys of buildings and land. Our team can assist with engaging with a contractor to carry out the remedial work.

Health & Safety Services

We are a Principal Designer under the Construction and Design Management (CDM) Regulations 2015. We regularly assist our clients in preparing pre-construction information and can provide advice on the necessary arrangement for managing and organizing a project.
